IMPORTANT INFORMATION
FOR POTENTIAL STUDENTS WHO WILL BE WORKING IN THE
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
In order to legally work in the state of New Jersey
You must complete the following 3 steps:
1. Take and pass the required 60 hour, 5 day PERMANENT COSMETICS course
You must complete the Basic Permanent Cosmetics Course. This will teach you how to perform Eyebrows, Eyes, and Lips. You cannot perform Areola Tattooing for one year, and Scar Camouflage for 2 years in NJ. At that time, you may take an ADVANCED class to learn these skills. At our school, you will get to perform 2 Eyebrow, 2 Eye, and 2 Lip procedures on "live models" We will also cover you Malpractice Insurance while you are training at our facility. |
2. Complete 9 additional procedures under the NJ APPRENTICE PROGRAM
You must perform an additional 3 Eyebrow, 3 Eye, and 3 Lip procedures under the New Jersey Apprentice Program. This will give you a total of 15 procedures which are required to take the AAM Board Certification Exam. |
3. Take and pass the AAM Board Certification Exam
The last step of this process is to take the American Academy of Micropigmentation Board Certification Exam. This includes a ,ultiple choice exam, which includes some diagrams, and a practical. The practical does not require you to perform a Permanent Cosmetic procedure, but you must present 15 "client files" for 5 Eyebrow, 5 Eye, and 5 Lip procdures performed in your Permanent Cosmetic Class, and Apprentice Program |
ALSO, BE AWARE, THAT YOU CANNOT PERFORM PERMANENT COSMETICS
IN A DAY SPA, OR NAIL OR HAIR SALON IN NJ
Once certified, you may perform Permanent Cosmetics legally in the state of New Jersey in a Plastic Surgery Office, Dermatologist Office, or your own location. Any location that is licensed by the NJ BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY is OFF LIMITS!!!!
